It's Getting Chili Around Here - Chili Non Carne

Chili Non Carne
Yup.  It was still dark when I left for work this morning a little before 8:00 a.m.  Soon, it will also be dark when I leave work at 4:00.  The wind is blowing, and there is a definite bite in the air from the wind shooting off the already snow-covered mountains surrounding us and from the glacier.  Brrrrrr!

This will be the second time in two weeks I have made this chili - but it is so warm and comforting, and so good for groups of people who aren't necessarily into eating Vegan food - people who may think that Vegan food is strange, and not realize that it is just, simply, food without dead flesh in it.

I like using TVP in this dish.  It gives a big shot of protein for those who worry about such things, and adds no fat.

See my Losing 70 Pounds Recipes page for this recipe.

  1. I Lurve your Chili! How about the recipe for
Sloppy Hoes? So I don't screw up next time I make them....
Those Sloppy Hoes I could eat every day. Mmmmmm.
Maybe we could have them next week, eh?

  2. Ooh! I am liking the Ho's!! Maybe not next week, because I am cooking a lot today, and will only be in for 2.5 days - but who's counting! But I will post what I am cooking today - you will like it! One of the items is that vegan Caesar salad dressing that you like.

  3. I just put this recipe in the crock pot a few hours ago, and I have already made a few trips to taste it! Amazing!!! I have always been very hesitant to eat vegan because I always felt it was very expensive, but this makes a huge pot and it was very reasonable in price! Thank you so much for posting and I look forward to trying more of your recipes:)

I am so glad that you tried it and liked it. You may be interested in the Caesar Salad recipe, as it is low in calories and high in protein. Great for us Weight Watchers!!
